Rob Sisk’s halftime notebook

After the first half, the Little Giants walked into the locker room in distresswith the scoreboard reading 30-20 in favor of William Fleming at the Group AA semifinals at Richmond’s Siegel Center.

The quick style of the Colonels kept Waynesboro off the boards, something they needed to do desperately against this high-shooting team.

The Little Giants did get off to an early start, but William Fleming adapted to their zone and began to exploit it—similar to the Giants game against Handley.

The Little Giants did switch to a man-to-man defense late in the second quarter, and it kept the Colonels from increasing their lead.

Joel Robinson and Todd Phillips lead the Giants in scoring with six each.

The Colonels are just as quick as they advertised, and the Little Giants returned from the gym more relaxed and even started to dance a little to the arena music.

There was also a lot of bad passes going around in the second quarter, with Tim Brown and Ander Ross both losing the ball.
